Serving Over 13 Million People
Donor Network West is an organ procurement and tissue recovery organization (OPO) with headquarters in northern California and northern Nevada.
Connected to the Communities We Serve
Our efforts reside in the heart of our communities—the people who live here alongside us. We work to harness the strength and potential of our communities and encourage them to choose the gift of life.
Donor Network West’s service area in northern California includes more than 12 million people spanning across the Bay Area, Valley, and northern region. We work with our generous donors and their families to recover and allocate their organs to patients in need. With more than 20,000 Californians currently waiting for an organ transplant, education and outreach efforts are crucial to help reduce and one day eliminate the waiting list for an organ transplant.
Donor Network West works throughout five counties in northern Nevada (Carson City, Churchill, Douglas, Mineral, Humboldt and Washoe county) to educate people about organ, eye and tissue donation and encourage them to register. With more than 700 Nevadans waiting for the gift of life, the need is great. We work with our medical community partners in these counties to facilitate the gift of life when an organ donation becomes available, so that more people can have a second chance at life.
